Thanksgiving oral presentation

Thanksgiving is one of the most popular celebrations in the United States of America. It is lively and enjoyable for Americans. Canadians celebrate Thanksgiving too. Thus, you are going to investigate and prepare oral presentations about this unique feast.

You will be divided into groups of three or four students. Each group is going to work on a particularity of this holiday. These are the themes you have to research about:

1. When does people celebrate Thanksgiving? Tell traditions or activities people do on Thanksgiving day.

2. The origins and history of Thanksgiving. What does this feast celebrate?

3. Typical food people eat in Thanksgiving.

4. Fun facts about Thanksgiving.

5. Macy's Thanksgiving parade.

6. Thanksgiving Day in Canada. Differences with Thanksgiving in USA.

Each member of the team has to speak between 40 and 60 words and show at least one picture that exemplifies what they are speaking about. Use words and structures that you know how to use, if the teacher asks the meaning of a word or a sentence you must know how to answer!!!

Halloween Pumpkin contest

A Halloween Pumpkin contest will be held at our centre, as it is already a tradition. This year, you must use recycled materials to create your pumpkin, instead of using a natural pumpkin.
Students in 1st and 3rd of ESO will hand in their pumpkin on Monday, 28th October, and students in 2nd and 4th of ESO will do it on Tuesday, 29th October.
